Fraud Investigations
Fraud Investigation Services from Cendrowski Corporate Advisors
If you suspect the presence of fraud in your organization, such as embezzlement, money laundering, theft, or vendor fraud, a fraud investigation should be undertaken immediately. Quick investigation facilitates timely remediation, minimizing monetary losses due to fraud and also damage to a firm’s reputation.
The certified fraud examiners at CCA will help you conduct a fraud investigation quickly and discretely. Under the proprietary fraud deterrence methodology developed by CCA, we follow five principal phases in fraud investigations:
- 1. Establish investigation goals and objectives
- 2. Accumulate and assimilate information
- 3. Analyze case data
- 4. Develop a plan of action for civil, criminal or disciplinary action
- 5. Case resolution
How the CCA Fraud Investigation Works
The initial goal-setting phase focuses on preparation of a detailed schedule (i.e., Gantt chart) showing tasks and milestone dates, as well as an estimated budget. This first phase ends with the client’s acceptance or rejection of the proposed fraud investigation.
During the second phase of the fraud investigation, the methods used for discovery of evidence are decided and a detailed work schedule, complete with methods to achieve the work, is created. Information requests, such as personnel interviews for internal investigations, or interrogatories, subpoenas, depositions in litigation matters, are prepared.
Once all data is collected, it is analyzed, documented, and an expert report with detailed recommendations is written.
Authors of a Proprietary Fraud Deterrence Methodology
CCA’s certified fraud examiners and forensic accountants wrote the book titled The Handbook of Fraud Deterrence (Wiley, 2006). Time is of the essence when your organization’s reputation is at risk, and the CCA team is ready to respond immediately and with great sensitivity to confidentiality requirements.
