Corporate Governance
Recent corporate failures have fundamentally changed the equation for investment decisions. A company's potential future earnings used to be a dominant criterion used in making an investment decision. That decision point has now been augmented, and perhaps eclipsed by a new measure: how much can this company be trusted.
Current discussions on 'corporate governance' have moved beyond the concept of compliance with new laws and regulations, and instead focus on the development of value creating structures to guide daily decisions and actions by all layers of the organization. The development of expectations for ethical conduct, reinforced and disseminated through policies, procedures, monitoring points, and demonstrated actions by top level executives are creating the environment of trust and validation that yields increased trust, and therefore, premium, in the marketplace.
Cendrowski Corporate Advisors is involved with helping build this trust is through three main focus areas:
- Helping senior management understand their responsibilities and roles within the company environment
- Helping implement the expectations of management through policies, actions, and identified monitoring points throughout the organization
- Helping assess the strength of the internal control structure as implemented within the organization
